Ask a quick question:

National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs NATSAP

When will I hear how my child is doing?
Communication with you as parents is critical to your child’s success at WinGate. We believe that the family is an essential element to the long-term success of each student. This communication begins within the first hours of a student arriving at WinGate’s field office. Our admissions team will quickly brief you on how things have gone with the intake and make a detailed handoff to the therapist assigned to your family. The therapist will be in touch with you within the first 24 hours of placement to introduce himself / herself and to schedule your initial conference call. This begins a close relationship that continues throughout the therapeutic process.

How often will my child see his/her therapist?
WinGate therapists are in the field with their students for 2 days each week. During this time individual and group sessions help student work through specific issues as they focus on an individualized treatment plan. In addition to the relationship with the therapist, students interact daily with trained and caring staff, who guide them on their path.

How long is the typical stay with WinGate?
In order to truly individualize treatment, WinGate works on a flexible length-of-stay basis with an average stay of about 8 weeks. This gives the therapist the time and opportunity to understand the specific needs of each child and work closely with parents and referring professionals in preparing all necessary elements of transition.

What happens after the program?
Because of the individual nature of each family’s circumstance, transition out of WinGate is unique to each child. Some families choose to bring their child home, while others move their child on to other types of therapeutic or academic locals.  WinGate works closely with the family, Educational Consultant, and other professionals in tailoring a transition plan that meets your student’s needs.
